Dear QEHS Parents and Guardians,

Congratulations to our junior high track and field team.  QEHS was awarded the Grand Aggregate, which goes to the school who scored the most points combined from every category!  In addition, we hosted our first junior high flag football tournament this week, and we were undefeated.

We are well into our final assessment weeks with students showing dedication to their learning and progress. Go Knights!

Today we honored and celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day.  National Indigenous People’s Day, celebrated annually on June 21, coincides with the summer solstice, and serves as a meaningful time for ceremony, renewal, and community gatherings. Equipped with the knowledge shared with us by Métis Knowledge Keeper Pricilla Paul on the CBE’s Indigenous Education Professional Learning Day in April, our team designed a day of activities that honors the rich cultures, heritage, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. If your family would like to participate in National Indigenous People’s Day, I have listed below several events happening in Calgary this weekend.

Next week I will provide our final Knights’ Notes for the 2025/2026 school year, and I will share details about our back-to-school plans.

With gratitude,

Jennifer Edmondson-Neily

QEHS Band Parents’ Association

It has been a very musical and amazing year! We are grateful for the many ways families have supported performances, fundraising efforts and all the behind-the-scenes work that helps the band program thrive.

Queen Elizabeth Band Parents Association (QEBPA) is 100% volunteer run, and we want to thank everyone for their dedication and support. Your time and efforts make a significant difference in providing opportunities for our students.

A special thank you goes out to our QEBPA executive for helping everything run so smoothly this year. Your commitment and hard work are greatly appreciated.

As we prepare for next year, we are looking for volunteers interested in joining QEBPA. The following positions are currently available or may need additional support:

  • Co-Chair
  • Directors (Coordinators for various fundraisers)
  • Director (At Large)

If you are interested in learning more about any of the vacant positions, contact us at qebpainfo@gmail.com. Even a small contribution of time helps support our students and band program.

Thank you again for being part of such a wonderful year. We wish all of our band families a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer. For those moving on from band, thanks for the memories. Everyone else - we look forward to making more music together next year!  https://www.qebpa.ca/
