Final Exam Reminders and Expectations for Students 


Please bring: 

  • Bring photo ID   
  • Know your exam date, time, and location  
  • Review and understand exam rules and expectations  
  • Bring the correct* materials (pen, pencil, eraser, calculator, etc.) 
  • A quiet snack (no crunchy food) 
  • Tissues 
  • Water (must be in a clear bottle)

Do not bring: 

  • Your cell phone (even if powerful off) 
  • Smart technology (including watches) 
  • AirPods/Earbuds/Headphones 
  • Backpack or bags 
  • Bulky jackets, hats or toques 
  • Notes, textbooks, or written materials 
  • Electronic Dictionaries/translators 
  • Pencil case or calculator case 

 * Correct materials are those approved by Alberta Education for PAT and Diploma exams. Please be sure to confirm with your teacher what resource materials are and are not allowed in your exam prior to the day of the test.

Late Arrivals

Arrive on time! Students who arrive more than one hour after an examination has started will not be allowed to write the examination. Students who arrive late but within the first hour of administration may be allowed to write at the discretion of the principal or chief presiding examiner.

Diploma Rewrites

If you wish to do a diploma rewrite

  • You must inform your Assistant Principal before you register through myPass for the rewrite.
  • There is a cost to rewrite.  You will pay when you register with Alberta Education.

Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT) are part of a balanced, broad-based program of student assessment for Grade 9 students. The results provide some of the information that guides our educators as they set targets for student achievement and track the results of school improvement initiatives.
